From Village Boy to Global Scholar: A Legacy of Giving Back

Born in Kyiremfaso, a small farming community in the Asante-Mampong Municipality, what once seemed like an uncertain childhood has blossomed into an inspiring journey of resilience, education, and purpose.

Today, Dr. Daniel Agyemfour-Agyemang Sarpong, lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Management Studies, Koforidua Technical University, stands as a beacon of possibility. Rising from humble beginnings, he has earned four master’s degrees and a PhD, and has now returned to his roots with a mission—to uplift the very community that nurtured his early steps.

Through the invaluable partnership of Care for Society Network International (CfSNI), Dr. Sarpong spearheaded the renovation of Kyiremfaso M/A Junior High School and launched the Yen Anidaso Reading Club and Library Project.

At the inauguration ceremony, he emphasized the urgent need to create an enabling environment for learning, with a strong focus on girl-child education, community transformation, and mindset change. He also highlighted the importance of sustaining educational infrastructure, calling on colleagues in government, as well as well-placed individuals, to invest in the future of Kyiremfaso. To support immediate learning outcomes, reading and exercise books were donated to the school.

In a heartfelt response, Nana Akwasi Akuoko Kodua II, Kyirimfasohene, expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Sarpong and CfSNI for their life-changing intervention, describing it as a turning point in the educational journey of Kyiremfaso’s youth.

This milestone marks not only the transformation of a school but also the renewal of hope for a community—proof that even the most modest beginnings can give rise to profound legacies of change.
