At Koforidua Ascension congregation, the.45th annual event was marked with activities including health talk, health screening and visit to the sick and aged amongst the members.
The launch of the week long program, saw octogenarian indefatigable evangelist, Boniface Adjei who took both Men's and Women's fellowship members through the theme; "Celebrating Our Heritage; Persisting in mission; Go labour on".
The exposition touched on the pride of Presbyterianism including Discipline, Hard work, Punctuality, Loyalty, Respect, Concern and Love for one another.
Persisting in mission, Evangelist Boniface Adjei exhorted the members, and for that matter, the church, to be steadfast in the values which distinguish Presbyterians from members of other denomination. .
He said just as it was remarked of the disciples of Jesus' Christ in Antioch and by which the disciples earned the name Christians, Presbyterians should persist in their heritage for all to acknowledge them as Presbyterians.
Evangelist Boniface stated that man was the first human being created and that he was committed to work and keep the garden, Eden, but man did not persist in the mission.
Man (Adam) was with the woman (Eve) but looked on and lost control of that which had been committed to him.
He said due to man's recklessness, the woman (Eve) took control of leadership and dealt with the devil who easily overcame her. The woman then pulled her man and made him go with her into damnation by eating the fruit which God had charged them not to eat.
He said but for the love of God through Jesus Christ, humanity is redeemed from the total damnation from the recklessness of man.
Evangelist Boniface Adjei said responsibility is laid on men to keep up the spirit, soul and body by teaching their children in the way of the Lord.
Bringing the thanksgiving service to close, saw the District Minister, Rev. Justice Kwame Asumeng bringing admonition to men.
He adminished men to stand strongly in all aspects and sacrifice for their children
He said Fathers should be the 'Josephs' for children, for the family and for the Church
Rev Asumeng then offered prayers of Goodwill, Protection and Blessings for men to make them strong in order to persist in the mission, to overcome all challenges and to make them good fathers.
