E/R:Kwasi Fante Polyclinic Appeals for Delivery Beds to Improve Maternal Healthcare

The Facility Manager of the Holy Spirit Catholic Polyclinic in Kwasi Fante, Mr. Raymond Ayeh, has issued a heartfelt appeal for additional delivery beds to improve maternal healthcare in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District of the Eastern Region. The polyclinic, which serves Kwasi Fante and neighboring communities, currently operates with only one delivery bed, creating a serious challenge in meeting the growing needs of expectant mothers.

Mr. Ayeh made the appeal after the facility received a donation of roofing sheets, plastic chairs, and streetlights from the District Chief Executive (DCE), Moses Tangmee, and the Member of Parliament for the area, Joseph Appiah Boateng. The donation, aimed at supporting the construction of the facility's new theater, was warmly welcomed.

While expressing gratitude for the gesture, Mr. Ayeh stressed that the clinic’s most urgent need remains the provision of delivery beds and incubators. These resources, he said, are critical for ensuring the safety and well-being of both mothers and newborns during childbirth.

“Our vision is to provide safe, dignified, and quality maternal care,” he said. “But with only one delivery bed, our ability to serve expectant mothers is severely limited. We are appealing to government bodies, non-governmental organizations, and benevolent individuals to support us with delivery beds and medical equipment.”

In response, DCE Moses Tangmee acknowledged the importance of the appeal and reiterated the district's commitment to improving healthcare services across the region. He noted that the donation was made following a direct request from the facility and assured that more support would follow as part of efforts to strengthen local health infrastructure.

The Holy Spirit Catholic Polyclinic continues to play a vital role in community health, and stakeholders hope this appeal will inspire timely support to enhance maternal care in the district.
