Kwahuhene Donates GH₵200,000 to Support Kantamanto Fire Victims

 


Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III, Omanhene of the Kwahu Traditional Area, has donated GH₵200,000 to assist traders whose businesses were devastated by the recent fire at Kantamanto Market on January 2, 2025.

The donation, aimed at supporting reconstruction efforts and helping affected traders restore their livelihoods, was presented on his behalf by Kwahu Abetifihene Akyemfuor Asiedu Agyemang III, Kwahu Tafohene Nana Kwasi Opoku Mintah II, and Kwahu Pepeasehene Nana Bonsu Ayirepe II.

Speaking on behalf of the Kwahuhene, Akyemfuor Asiedu Agyemang III reiterated the unwavering support of Kwahu Chiefs for the Kantamanto traders and expressed sympathy for their losses. He also called on the government to collaborate with the traders to develop a modern market, emphasizing that Kantamanto Market plays a crucial role in reducing unemployment.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the traders, Aikins Boakye Mensah, Chairman of the Redevelopment Committee, expressed immense gratitude to Kwahuhene and the entire Kwahu Traditional Council for their generosity during this difficult time. He also appealed for additional support, particularly in providing iron rods and fencing for the market, and outlined measures being implemented to prevent future disasters.
