E/R:Newly Built Nurses’ Quarters and Hematology Analyzer Strengthen Healthcare in Fanteakwa South
In a significant boost to healthcare accessibility in the Fanteakwa South District, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Fanteakwa South, Hon. Ernest Ofosu, officially handed over a newly constructed nurses’ quarters to the Hemang Health Centre. Joined by the Member of Parliament, Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum, and the newly elected Parliamentary Candidate, Duke Ofori Atta, the DCE presented the two-bedroom, semi-detached residence designed to ensure that nurses can now reside close to the health center, ready to attend to patients promptly.
At the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Ernest Ofosu emphasized that the absence of resident health officers had been a significant barrier to quick medical response. He expressed confidence that with this new facility, residents of Hemang would receive faster, round-the-clock medical care. “Previously, residents often had to travel outside town for medical assistance after nurses’ working hours, but now, with on-site healthcare personnel, this challenge is effectively resolved,” said the DCE.
Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum, MP for Fanteakwa South, also contributed to the district’s healthcare improvement by donating an Auto Hematology Analyzer to the Bosuso Health Centre. This advanced equipment will enhance diagnostic capabilities, enabling healthcare workers to conduct vital blood tests on-site and support better patient care.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the district, Fanteakwa South Health Director Margaret Nyarko praised both the DCE and MP for their commitment to healthcare advancement. “This facility and the analyzer will be put to excellent use to bring primary healthcare directly to the community’s doorstep,” she assured.
These developments signal a promising step forward in improving healthcare access and delivery in Fanteakwa South, reinforcing a commitment to community welfare and health.
