Lotto Marketing Companies Dismiss FalseAccusations Against NLA Director General
Accra, Ghana – October 10, 2024: The National Executive Committee of the Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs) has strongly denounced recent statements made by Mr. Kwaku Antwi Boadu, a former National Interim Organizer of the association, against Hon. Sammi Awuku, the Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA).
During a public event on October 9, 2024, Mr. Boadu accused Hon. Sammi Awuku of being "the most corrupt Director General in Ghana." The leadership of the LMCs has categorically rejected these claims, describing them as baseless and defamatory.
In an official statement signed by Mr Francis Opoku, National Chairman, the National Executives of the Lotto Marketing Company Association (NALMCA) emphasized the following points:
1. The LMCs do not endorse or support the false accusations made by Mr. Kwaku Antwi Boadu and disassociate themselves entirely from his statements.
2. They believe that Mr. Boadu's remarks were made to settle a personal grievance against the Director General and to unjustly damage Hon. Sammi Awuku's reputation.
3. Mr. Boadu's comments do not reflect the views or the position of the Lotto Marketing Companies.
4. The association suspects that Mr. Boadu's allegations were motivated by personal interests, rather than the welfare of the organization or the public.
The LMCs have called on the public and the media to disregard these unproven allegations. They reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a professional and constructive relationship with the NLA under the leadership of Hon. Sammi Awuku.
"We stand firmly against any attempt to undermine the integrity of our industry or its leadership through baseless accusations and personal vendettas," the statement concluded.
