E/R:Kwahu West Municipal Assembly Finally Elects Presiding Member After Six Rounds

The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly has finally elected its Presiding Member after three sittings and six rounds of voting.


The election, supervised by the Municipal Officer of the Electoral Commission, was contested by Hon. Peter Adjei Dua and Hon. Eric Owusu.


After the second round of voting in the latest sitting, Hon. Peter Adjei Dua secured the required two-thirds majority with 28 votes to become the Presiding Member of the Assembly.



Speaking after the election, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Kwahu West, Hon. Tamimu Halidu, expressed excitement and commended Assembly Members for showing commitment to the progress of the Assembly by ensuring the election of a Presiding Member.


He explained that the absence of a Presiding Member would have negatively affected the Assembly's performance under the District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT).

Dr. Kingsley Agyeman, the parliamentary candidate for Abuakwa South Constituency, has extended a generous hand to support local youth and artisans. In a heartwarming ceremony held at Akyem Maase, Dr. Agyeman, along with key New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency executives, donated essential equipment and financial support to aspiring apprentices in dressmaking and hairdressing.
