NPP Must Rebuild, Unite and Recapture Power in 2028 – Irene Baah Asare

Mrs. Irene Baah Asare, a philanthropist and aspiring Women's Organizer for the Abuakwa North Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on party members to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilization efforts ahead of the 2028 general elections.

According to her, the NPP cannot afford to remain in opposition beyond the next electoral cycle and must begin rebuilding its structures from the grassroots to position itself strongly for victory in 2028. She stressed that effective leadership, unity, and commitment among party faithful would be critical factors in the party's quest to reclaim political power.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Kwasi Asare on Nopras 107.5 Fm, Mrs. Baah Asare expressed concern over what she described as the gradual collapse of several flagship social intervention programmes introduced by successive NPP administrations. She cited initiatives such as the Free Maternal Healthcare Policy introduced under former President John Agyekum Kufuor, the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), and the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) Policy implemented under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

She argued that these programmes significantly improved the lives of Ghanaians and urged party supporters to work tirelessly to ensure the NPP returns to government in the 2028 general elections to continue implementing policies aimed at improving socio-economic development.

Mrs. Baah Asare further appealed to delegates to entrust her with the position of Constituency Women's Organizer, assuring them of her readiness to strengthen the women's wing of the party through innovative and inclusive mobilization strategies.

Highlighting her experience as the Constituency Treasurer, she noted that she had demonstrated strong organizational and mobilization skills and would leverage information technology-driven data collection systems to build an effective database of women across the constituency. According to her, such a system would enhance communication, participation, and coordination among women within the party.

She emphasized that empowering women would remain her top priority if elected, adding that creating opportunities for women to actively participate in party activities and leadership structures would contribute significantly to the growth and success of the NPP in Abuakwa North and beyond.

Mrs. Baah Asare concluded by urging party members to put aside their differences, rally behind a common vision, and work collectively towards strengthening the NPP's chances of returning to power in 2028.
