‎E/R:ANYINAM FIRE STATION HOLDS THANKSGIVING SERVICE, DCE PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR ONGOING PROJECTS

 



The Anyinam Fire Station on Thursday, January 22, 2026, held a Thanksgiving Service to celebrate its achievements and seek divine blessings for continued service and protection of lives and property in the Atiwa East District of Ghana's Eastern Region .

‎The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including the District Chief Executive for Atiwa East, Hon. Ernest Ntim Owusu; Rev. Father Samuel Kwesi Parkoo of the Roman Catholic Church; representatives from the Ghana Immigration Service; the Officer in Charge of the Anyinam Health Centre; the Officer in Charge of the Ambulance Service; and members of the media.

‎Activities lined up for the occasion included a Guard of Honour parade, a church service, addresses by the District Fire Commander and the District Chief Executive, as well as an inspection of ongoing projects at the station.

Delivering a sermon during the service, Rev. Father Samuel Kwesi Parkoo emphasized the importance of fire safety and strong collaboration between the Fire Service and the community. He also encouraged personnel and attendees to build their lives in Christ Jesus.

‎The District Fire Commander, DOII Michael George Korda, expressed heartfelt appreciation to all the guests for honoring the invitation. He took the opportunity to lead the DCE and other dignitaries to inspect an ongoing project at the station, which includes a two-office accommodation with a conference hall currently at the roofing stage, as well as a completed  overhead water tank.

DOII Korda highlighted his mission, achievements, and challenges since taking office and assured the DCE of his commitment to ensuring safety within the district. He further empowered the fire safety education team to intensify public sensitization efforts aimed at reducing fire outbreaks and other emergencies.

He extended special gratitude to individuals and organizations that have supported the station’s progress, including Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim, DCE for Atiwa East; Hon. Johnson Anom Amo, DCE for Atiwa West; Rev. Samuel Kwesi Parkoo; Extra Gold Limited; Kibi Gold Limited; Ready Oil Limited; One Song Enterprise; Alive Mineral Water; Okyeman Block Factory; Old Soldier Block Factory; and other philanthropists.

‎In his remarks, Hon. Ernest Ntim Owusu commended the District Fire Commander for organizing the program and urged fire personnel to remain dedicated to their duties. He assured the station of his commitment to help complete the ongoing project and pledged to provide a 10,000-litre poly tank to serve as a reservoir to enhance firefighting efforts at the station.
