Nkoranza Under Strict Security As They Pay Tribute To The Late Ankobiahene.

The Nkoranza Traditional Area is on high alert as the community comes together to mourn the passing of their beloved Ankobiahene, Oheneba Baffo Agyie IV.

The atmosphere is heavy with grief, but also with a strong sense of unity as residents pay their respects under a watchful security presence, along with distinguished guests from all over the country, who gather to pay their last respects to the The solemn four-day funeral rites, which began on Monday, November 17, are set to conclude on Thursday, November 20, 2025, prompting the mobilization of an extensive security detail involving various state agencies.

A collaborative effort involving the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Ambulance Service, and the Ghana Army, along with local security teams from the Nkoranza Traditional Council, is actively working to maintain order in the community. Their presence stretches from the Dote Yie, the designated funeral grounds, to key strategic locations throughout Nkoranza, ensuring the safety of both residents and the many visitors who have come to pay their respects to the revered chief.
These heightened security measures have been implemented in anticipation of a significant influx of high-profile guests, including government officials, traditional leaders, and other distinguished figures from various regions. This deployment aims to uphold peace and order, prevent any security disturbances, and ensure a respectful and smooth mourning period for the late Ankobia Hene.

The Senior Linguist and Head of the Funeral Planning Committee, Nana Nyarko Ababio, has made a heartfelt appeal to all attendees. "We kindly ask everyone, both visitors and Nkoranza residents, to adhere to all established protocols during these solemn rites." He stated during a press briefing.
"Cooperation with security personnel and following guidance from traditional authorities is essential to ensure a dignified farewell for our beloved Oheneba Baffo Agyie," he added.

The late Oheneba Baffo Agyie was a cherished figure within the Nkoranza Traditional Council, with his contributions to the community and traditional governance widely recognized. His passing marks a profound loss for the people of Nkoranza and the broader traditional landscape of Ghana.
