E/R:Kwahu Afram Plains North MP Urges Churches to Prioritize Moral Discipline in Preaching
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwahu Afram Plains North, Hon. Worlase Kpeli, has called on pastors and other religious leaders to place greater emphasis on preaching moral discipline as a means of restoring values among the youth.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service at the Bethel Methodist Chapel in Kwahu Mpraeso, the MP expressed concern over what he described as growing indiscipline among Ghanaians, particularly the youth. He attributed this partly to the neglect of churches in instilling moral values, noting that too much responsibility has been left to politicians in governing the nation’s affairs.
Hon. Kpeli stressed that the church has a vital role to play in shaping the character of the younger generation. He urged pastors to rededicate themselves to nurturing children to become God-fearing, respectful, and upright citizens.
“The vision of the church should go beyond spiritual growth to include the moral upbringing of children,” he stated, emphasizing that governance without discipline and values is incomplete.
He further appealed to religious leaders to actively contribute to building a God-fearing society through faith-based education and consistent moral guidance.
