Residents of Osino in the Fanteakwa South District have received significant support from Osaberima Otu Darko IV, Chief of Osino, and Kibi Goldfields Ltd as part of their corporate social responsibility initiatives.
On Tuesday, July 28, 2025, the chief, in collaboration with Kibi Goldfields, donated various educational and vocational items to the community following a needs assessment he conducted at local schools and among the youth. This initiative was aimed at addressing key challenges in education and youth unemployment.
Among the items presented were teaching and learning materials such as projectors, televisions, computers, laptops, ovens, school doors, teachers’ tables and chairs, as well as an undisclosed amount of money to support the educational institutions.
In addition, several youths were supported with vocational equipment and funds to begin skills training in trades including decoration, hairdressing, fashion and beauty, and driving. Items such as industrial sewing machines and hairdryers were distributed to enable the beneficiaries to start their businesses and build a sustainable future.
Speaking on behalf of school heads in the district, Mr. Ernest Boadu expressed heartfelt gratitude to Osaberima Otu Darko for the timely intervention. He praised the donation and added, “Like Oliver Twist, we ask for more.”
Some beneficiaries also expressed appreciation to both the chief and Kibi Goldfields, pledging to put the resources to good use and improve their livelihoods.
