Residents of Agyakaamanso and Ensoyameye Plead for Road Reconstruction Amid Deplorable Conditions

Residents of Agyakaamanso and Ensoyameye in the Amenfi Central Constituency are urgently calling for the reconstruction of the road connecting their towns, which has deteriorated into an alarming state of disrepair. After enduring years of hardship due to the worsening condition of the road, community members have taken to social media to voice their concerns and appeal for immediate government intervention.

A video circulating online captures residents passionately appealing to the government, the Member of Parliament, Hon. Joan Gyan Cudjoe, and other relevant authorities to address the critical issue. They stress that the road is their sole connection to surrounding towns and cities, making it essential for accessing healthcare, education, markets, and other vital services.

The situation becomes particularly dire during the rainy season, when the road transforms into a muddy quagmire, making transportation nearly impossible. The footage shows vehicles struggling to maneuver through thick mud, illustrating the daily struggles residents face in commuting, transporting goods, and seeking medical care.

“This road is our only way out,” one resident lamented in the video. “We are begging the government to come to our aid. We’ve been suffering for far too long.”

Residents specifically appealed to the NDC government, led by H.E. John Dramani Mahama, through their Member of Parliament, Hon. Joan Gyan Cudjoe, and the District Chief Executive, Peter Amposah, to prioritize the reconstruction of the road to alleviate their transportation challenges.

The poor state of the Agyakaamanso-Ensoyameye road has long been a barrier to the development and well-being of the community. Despite the years of neglect, residents remain hopeful that their heartfelt plea will prompt swift action from the authorities, leading to the restoration of the road and improved connectivity. The community now anxiously awaits a response and firm commitment from those in power.
