Ghanaian NGO Appeals to UN for Peace Intervention and Environmental Focus

Accra, Ghana – June 18, 2025

Save The Nation For Future Leaders (STNFFL), a Ghanaian non-governmental organization, has officially appealed to the United Nations Secretary-General, His Excellency António Guterres, to intensify global peace efforts and redirect international focus toward environmental sustainability.

In a letter delivered through the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Ghana, the organization emphasized the urgent need for the UN to intervene in escalating tensions between countries such as Ukraine, Russia, and the United States through diplomatic dialogue and peaceful negotiation.

The letter, signed by Kwadwo Atta Apeakorang, the Founder and President of STNFFL, called on the UN to use its moral and diplomatic authority to champion peace and sustainable development. The group argued that global resources should be shifted from warfare and arms production to environmental rehabilitation and climate action.

"We strongly believe that peace and ecological balance are inseparable pillars of a stable and prosperous world," the letter stated.

STNFFL, which has been advocating for environmental justice, peace, and security, stressed that the current global climate emergency demands an urgent shift in priorities. They expressed hope that the UN would intensify mediation efforts and support a greener and more habitable planet by fostering cooperation among conflicting nations.

The organization also referenced a similar appeal it made in 2023 regarding the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, reinforcing its consistent commitment to peaceful solutions and sustainability.

The letter concluded with an offer of full support to the UN and a reaffirmation of the NGO’s readiness to contribute to peacebuilding and environmental advocacy on a global scale.
