E/R:Kwahu West MCE Engages Fulani Communities, Urges Compliance with Municipal By-Laws

The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly has held a stakeholder engagement with Fulani communities within the municipality, aimed at fostering peaceful coexistence and addressing concerns surrounding their activities.

Speaking at the meeting organized in collaboration with the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC), the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Tamimu Halidu, called on Fulani residents to strictly comply with the laws of the land, particularly the Assembly’s bye-laws that govern movement, settlement, and general conduct within the municipality.

Hon. Halidu expressed concern over recent incidents allegedly involving some members of the Fulani community, including violent clashes and a reported shooting incident in Nkawkaw Zongo. He emphasized the urgent need for the Fulani leadership to resolve internal chieftaincy disputes and work toward peaceful cohabitation with other residents.

He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to implementing policies in line with municipal by-laws to ensure public safety and harmony. “We must ensure law and order in every part of the municipality. These laws are not meant to target anyone but to create a peaceful and organized society,” he stated.

The MCE also stressed that unity and collaboration are crucial for development, and called on the Fulani community to cooperate fully with the Assembly to build a shared vision of peace and progress for all.
