As preparations for the annual Ohum Festival gather momentum, the Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa South, Hon. Duke Ofori Atta, has paid a courtesy call on the traditional leaders of the Mumuadu Traditional Area to seek their blessings and support.
The MP was accompanied by a high-powered delegation, including former District Chief Executive Ernest Ofosu, New Patriotic Party Constituency Chairman Maxi Kwadjo Appiah, and other key party executives. The team visited several palaces across the district to extend goodwill messages ahead of the festival and to express appreciation to the chiefs for their unwavering contributions toward the district’s development.
Hon. Ofori Atta presented items such as bottles of schnapps, crates of assorted drinks, bottled water, and an undisclosed sum of money to aid the traditional authorities in receiving guests during the festivities. He also requested prayers for the district’s peace, prosperity, and progress.
In a warm response, Osabarima Otu Darko IV, Chief of Osino and Paramount Chief of the Osino Traditional Area (Mumuadu-Sei), lauded the MP’s thoughtful gesture and reaffirmed the traditional authorities’ openness to any engagement that promotes the district’s advancement.
Osabarima Otu Darko IV also used the occasion to urge the MP to lobby for the deployment of more professionally trained teachers to schools in the area. He emphasized that strengthening the educational sector is critical to enhancing the quality of learning and shaping a brighter future for the youth.
“We are grateful for the MP’s continuous support and kind gestures. We believe that with quality education, our children will rise to meet the challenges of tomorrow,” the Chief remarked.
The visit set a tone of unity and collaboration as the district prepares to celebrate one of its most cherished cultural events.
