E/R: Okyenhene Donates GH¢50,000 to Support Youth Skills Training Initiative

The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, has donated GH¢50,000 to support the Amagyei Foundation’s skills training initiative aimed at promoting youth empowerment within the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area.

The donation was made when management and some beneficiaries of the foundation’s skills training programme paid a courtesy call on the Okyenhene at his palace in Kyebi, Eastern Region.

The Amagyei Foundation, established as the corporate social responsibility wing of the Amagyei Legal Firm, provides legal aid, advocacy, literacy training, mediation services, and skills development for underserved communities. It is affiliated with the Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service.

The purpose of the visit was to present products made by the trainees to the Okyenhene and to seek his support in expanding the initiative to other communities within Akyem Abuakwa.

Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin commended the foundation for its efforts in empowering the youth and improving livelihoods. He pledged his continued support and emphasized the need for affluent members of society to return to their roots and create opportunities for others. He remarked that the geography of one’s birth should not determine their economic prospects.

The Managing Attorney of Amagyei Legal Firm and founder of the Amagyei Foundation, Lawyer Ofosua Amagyei, noted that beneficiaries of the training programme are also equipped with knowledge in marketing, branding, sales, and customer service, among others.

She expressed hope that a dedicated training centre would be constructed in the near future to enhance the foundation’s capacity to support more beneficiaries.
