E/R: Atiwa East DCE Nominee Ernest Owusu Ntim Confirmed with 100% Votes
The District Chief Executive (DCE) nominee for Atiwa East, Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim, has been confirmed by Assembly Members after securing 100% of the total 23 votes cast.
In his remarks during the confirmation exercise, Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim expressed appreciation to the Assembly Members and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to work diligently to accelerate the development agenda of Atiwa East and its surrounding communities.
Touching on pressing concerns, Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim reiterated his commitment to inclusivity, urging all stakeholders to look beyond political affiliations in the collective effort to advance development in the district. He also emphasized his policy on responsible mining through land reclamation, alongside a strong focus on improving education.
In a related development in the Atiwa West District, Hon. John Anum Amo also secured a remarkable 100% endorsement from the Assembly Members—a strong vote of confidence in his leadership and vision as the new District Chief Executive.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. John Anum Amo expressed heartfelt gratitude to the President, the leadership of the NDC, and the entire Assembly for entrusting him with the mandate to serve. He pledged to lead a development-focused administration centered on key sectors such as agriculture and responsible mining. He further appealed to the chiefs in the area to avoid chieftaincy disputes and unite for development, stressing the importance of unity and cooperation in addressing the district's challenges.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, in her address, stated that the nominee was carefully selected based on merit, competence, loyalty, and an unflinching commitment to serve the district. She emphasized the government's "Resetting Agenda" under President Mahama, which focuses on stabilizing the economy, expanding infrastructure, deepening decentralization, and improving livelihoods. She encouraged the newly confirmed DCEs to collaborate closely with Assembly Members to drive development across their respective jurisdictions.
