The Akyem New Tafo Rhema Assemblies of God Church, located in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region, celebrated Mother's Day in grand style. The event, led by the Women’s Ministry, featured dancing, singing, and gift presentations during the Sunday church service.


The Women’s Ministry, under the leadership of their president, Mrs. Mercy Appiah, presented parcels to former dedicated members and current deserving women in recognition of their commitment and contributions to the ministry.

Additionally, the Young Singles group, made up of young single ladies in the church, expressed their appreciation to their patron, Mrs. Victoria Fiakpornu, for her valuable teachings and unwavering dedication to the group.


The celebration was filled with joy and gratitude, emphasizing the vital role of mothers and women in the church community.

The Chief of Coaltar in the Eastern Region, Barima Asiedu Okekrebesi II, has been destooled following a violent clash in Kraboa, a farming community in the Ayensuano District, which led to the tragic deaths of two individuals. The destoolment was officially announced by a delegation of traditional leaders (Nananom), led by the Apapamhene and Amantuomiensahene, Osabarima Okogyeaman Apagya Fori. The delegation carried out the customary destoolment process at the Coaltar Palace. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, January 16, 2025, stemmed from growing tensions over alleged illegal land sales and crop destruction in the area.
