Concerned Citizen Petitions National Security to Ban Nana Agradaa from Social Media
A formal petition has been submitted to the National Security Coordinator by Kwadwo Atta Apeakorang, Founder and President of a civil society organization, Save The Nation For Future Leaders, seeking the restriction of Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, from using social media platforms.
In the petition dated May 23, 2025, Mr. Apeakorang expressed grave concern over the continued use of digital platforms by Nana Agradaa to spread what he described as “offensive, inflammatory, and inciteful messages” capable of threatening public peace and national cohesion.
He accused the controversial evangelist of consistently using Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms to make unsubstantiated claims, hurl insults at public officials, and promote social discord, warning that such behavior undermines public morality and law and order.
Given her influence and growing digital following, the petitioner called on the National Security Secretariat, in collaboration with the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), to restrict her access to social media and closely monitor her activities to prevent her from using alternative channels to continue the alleged harmful behavior.
“This petition is motivated by a desire to see Ghana uphold values of respect, truth, and decency in the public space,” Mr. Apeakorang wrote, urging swift action to safeguard national unity and decency in the digital space.
The petition was also copied to the Minister for the Interior, the Inspector-General of Police, and the heads of the NIB and CID for immediate attention. As of now, there has been no official response from the authorities.
