According to the statement signed by Brigadier General E. Later that day, an attempted infiltration by unknown gunmen was thwarted by military personnel on patrol. This led to an exchange of fire, but the assailants fled the scene.
The GAF assured the public that the situation is under control and that troops remain on high alert to counter any further threats. It urged residents and the general public to support efforts to restore peace and normalcy in Bawku.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to working with other security agencies to ensure the safety and stability of the area.
