E/R:Fanteakwa South MP Leads Easter Initiatives to Promote Sanitation, Support the Vulnerable, and Inspire Children
As part of the Easter festivities in the Fanteakwa South Constituency, Member of Parliament Hon. Duke Ofori Atta launched a series of community-centered activities aimed at improving sanitation, supporting the vulnerable, and inspiring the younger generation.
The MP kicked off the celebrations with a clean-up exercise at Akyem Hemang and its surrounding communities. The initiative involved the desilting of choked gutters, sweeping of streets, and general sanitation work to ensure a cleaner environment. Hon. Ofori Atta used the occasion to urge residents to actively participate in such clean-up exercises to prevent diseases and maintain a healthy environment.
In another gesture of care and compassion, the MP hosted a special Easter event for the aged and vulnerable members of the constituency. He donated food items and assorted drinks to over 1,000 elderly and less privileged individuals across the 18 electoral areas of Fanteakwa South.
To crown the celebrations, Hon. Ofori Atta, in collaboration with Berima Kwabena Addo, Chief of Akyem Abompe, organized a three-day Easter Fanfare Games for children in the Abompe community. The event featured fun activities, the presentation of trophies, and the distribution of educational materials like books. Speaking at the event, the MP emphasized that children are the future leaders of the country, and the fanfare aimed to put smiles on their faces while educating them.
Chief Berima Kwabena Addo also addressed the gathering, encouraging parents to invest in their children’s education, which he described as the greatest legacy. He advised children to be respectful and urged teachers to continue instilling good values and discipline in students.
