NPP Refers Sarah Adwoa Safo to Disciplinary Committee for Media Comments

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken disciplinary action against Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo for making public comments that allegedly undermine party unity. In a formal notice issued on March 20, 2025, the party's General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, stated that the former Member of Parliament and Minister of State violated a directive prohibiting party members from discussing internal matters that could create disaffection in the media.

The statement referenced Safo's comments on the Pulse Show of Joy News, describing them as a direct contravention of the party’s directive, which was issued to all NPP members. It emphasized that her remarks not only disregarded party regulations but also hindered efforts to rebuild unity and progress.

"As a former Deputy Majority Leader and Minister, she was expected to set a good example by upholding the principles of discipline, loyalty, and unity that define the NPP," the statement read. The party further accused her of breaching Article 3(5) of the NPP constitution, which mandates members to promote and defend the party’s image.

As a result, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo has been referred to the NPP’s National Disciplinary Committee for further action.
