E/R:MP Donates Food Items to Muslims in Fanteakwa South for Ramadan
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Fanteakwa South, Hon. Duke Ofori Atta, has donated food items to Muslims in the constituency as they observe the holy month of Ramadan. This gesture, which has become an annual tradition, is aimed at supporting the Muslim community during their period of fasting and strengthening his relationship with them.
During the presentation, Hon. Duke Ofori Atta emphasized the significance of Ramadan in the Islamic calendar and expressed his commitment to fostering unity and harmony among all religious groups in the constituency. He stated that fasting is a time of self-discipline, reflection, and devotion to God, and as an MP, it is important to support the Muslim community in such a remarkable period.
He urged Muslims to use the period to pray for peace and stability in Ghana, particularly for the leaders at all levels, to enable them to deliver on their mandate. He also encouraged the Muslim youth to channel their energy into productive activities that will contribute to the development of their communities.
In his remarks, Hon. Duke Ofori Atta expressed his gratitude to the people of Fanteakwa South for their support in electing him as their MP. He assured them of his continuous efforts to bring development to the constituency, despite his party not being in government. He pledged to use his lobbying skills to attract developmental projects for the benefit of all.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Muslim community, Sariki Zakaria Mohammed, the Fanteakwa South Zongo Chief, expressed his deep appreciation for the MP’s generosity. He acknowledged the continuous support the MP has shown to the Muslim community and assured him of their prayers for his success and the progress of the constituency.
Other leaders from various mosques also expressed their gratitude and prayed for peace, unity, and development in Fanteakwa South and Ghana as a whole.
