The Chief Executive Officer of Lotus Group Limited Mining Division, Mr. Thomas Larbi, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to fulfilling its promises of socio-economic development for host communities.

Speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Akyem Nanapa in the Atiwa East District of the Eastern Region, Mr. Larbi emphasized the importance of healthcare in the company’s development agenda. He stated that investing in the well-being of the people is a top priority, adding that the project, valued at 3.5 million cedis, is expected to be completed within six months. He also assured the community of more developmental projects in the future.

On behalf of the community, Nana Baffour Akwei, Odikro of Akyem Nanapa, and his elders expressed their gratitude for the initiative and called for further development projects to enhance the lives of the residents.

In addition, Madam Ellen Biamsey, a Unit Committee member of the area, urged workers involved in the project to be mindful of their interactions with teenagers in the community to prevent cases of teenage pregnancy.

The CHPS compound, once completed, will significantly improve access to quality healthcare for residents, marking a major step in the community’s development.
