Save The Nation for Future Leaders Congratulates President-Elect John Dramani Mahama, Calls for National Unity and Praises Democratic Maturity

Mr. Kwadwo Atta Apeakorang, founder and president of Save The Nation for Future Leaders, has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on his victory in the 2024 general elections. Speaking on behalf of the NGO, Mr. Apeakorang praised the president-elect for his resounding triumph and prayed for God’s blessings and protection upon him and his family as they prepare to lead the nation.  


In his remarks during an interview with Nana Kwasi Asare on December 12, 2024, Mr. Apeakorang emphasized the need for national unity and cooperation to ensure Ghana's progress. He called on all Ghanaians, including political parties, NGOs, and traditional authorities, to rally behind President-elect Mahama to promote sustainable socio-economic development and improve the general welfare of the country.  


*"Without the support of all Ghanaians, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama cannot fully deliver on his mandate. Ghanaians called for change and have achieved it, but for this change to be meaningful and transformative, the collective support of every citizen is crucial. Together, we can make Ghana a beacon of development in Africa and beyond,"* he stated.  


Mr. Apeakorang also commended Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the closest contender in the 2024 elections, for graciously accepting defeat, and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for initiating a smooth transition of power. He lauded their actions as exemplary, reflecting the true spirit of democracy in Ghana.  


*"Their conduct underscores the strength of our democratic institutions and serves as an inspiration for other nations. I urge countries around the world to emulate this example to foster peace and stability globally,"* he added.  


Mr. Apeakorang’s comments highlight the importance of solidarity in governance and the role of citizens in building a prosperous nation. He reiterated his NGO’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing national development, urging all stakeholders to prioritize the country’s interests over partisan considerations.  


The victory of John Dramani Mahama has sparked optimism across various sectors, with many expressing hope for a renewed focus on development, inclusivity, and progress. As Ghana enters a new chapter, the democratic maturity displayed by the country’s leaders sets a precedent for peaceful political transitions and strengthens Ghana’s position as a model for democracy in Africa.
