E/R:Hon. Dr. Gifty Twum-Ampofo Fulfills Promise: Modern Medical Equipment Delivered to Akyem Ati CHPS Compound

Hon. Dr. Gifty Twum-Ampofo, affectionately called Hajia Kande, Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency and former Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), has fulfilled her commitment to improve healthcare delivery in Akyem Ati. On December 31, 2024, she delivered modern medical equipment to the Akyem Ati Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound, marking a significant milestone in addressing the community’s healthcare challenges.

The equipment, which includes a weighing scale (adult), hanging scale, infantometer, BP machine, examination couch, fetal Doppler, infrared thermometer, autoclave (35 liters), delivery bed, a five-fold screen, delivery suction machine, digital pan scale, two drip stands, two hospital beds (one crank), and a wheelchair, was handed over to Nana Brempomaa Amoafoa II, Queen Mother of Akyem Ati, pending the installation and completion of renovations on the facility. The Queen Mother expressed profound gratitude, stating, “Receiving these modern equipment brings joy, relief, and utmost excitement to me and my community as we inch closer to mitigating the health needs of our people. I thank Hon. Dr. Gifty Twum-Ampofo for a promise well fulfilled and assure her that the equipment will be used for its intended purpose.”

The short event  was attended by notable personalities, including Mr. Stephen Osei-Wusu, Abuakwa North NPP Communications Director; Mr. Seth Ofori-Dei, Abuakwa North NPP Organizer; Hon. Addo Sampson Koranteng, Assemblyman for Ati Amanfrom; Baafuor Gyan Kwasi, Gyaasehene of Akyem Ati; and Miss Laura Kaitooh, a registered community nurse leading the health team.

Hon. Dr. Twum-Ampofo had earlier pledged during the outdooring ceremony of Nana Brempomaa Amoafoa II as Queen Mother of Akyem Ati to equip the CHPS compound with modern equipment by the end of 2024. This initiative aligns with her commitment to addressing pressing health concerns and improving healthcare delivery in the Abuakwa North Constituency.

This development signifies a new chapter for the Ati community as the CHPS compound is set to enhance access to quality healthcare. The modern equipment will be instrumental in addressing maternal health, child welfare, and general medical needs, bringing relief to the residents. The community eagerly anticipates the completion of the facility's renovation and the official commissioning, which will mark a significant step forward in healthcare access and service delivery for Akyem Ati.
