Ahmed Anas Calls for Collective Support to Achieve NDC's Reset Ghana Agenda

In a statement reflecting on the challenges of national development, Ahmed Anas, Member of the Employment and Job Creation Committee, NDC National, has urged Ghanaians to support the NDC's Reset Ghana Agenda outlined in its 2024 manifesto. He emphasized that achieving meaningful change requires radical decisions, sacrifices, and a collective commitment to putting the nation first.

The Reset Ghana Agenda includes key reforms such as proposing a new labor law in Parliament to foster a sense of urgency among workers and employers for national growth. It also highlights initiatives like the "Buy Made-in-Ghana Policy" and encouraging investments in critical government ventures by citizens at home and abroad. These measures aim to unite Ghanaians and build confidence in national development efforts.

Anas criticized entrenched practices in government institutions, such as nepotism, favoritism, and cronyism, which he described as obstacles to progress. He noted that some individuals in ministries, agencies, and departments prioritize personal interests over national goals, often disregarding laws and rules of engagement. He called on citizens to collectively challenge and dismantle these cartels.

Referencing Article 23 of the 1992 Constitution, which mandates administrative fairness and accountability, Anas lamented that fear of intimidation, job loss, and blackmail often silences affected individuals. He urged Ghanaians to overcome these fears and demand accountability to ensure the success of the Reset Ghana Agenda.

Ahmed Anas concluded by emphasizing that the leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama alone cannot reset Ghana without a collective change in mindset, attitudes, beliefs, and values. He called for national unity in combating corruption and prioritizing the nation’s interests over personal gain.

“A word to the wise is enough,” Anas stated, as he encouraged Ghanaians to embrace the lessons of the past and work together to build a better future.
