E/R:Hon. Yaw Osafo-Maafo Advocates for Dr. Bawumia and Hon. Duke Ofori-Atta in Fanteakwa South
Honourable Yaw Osafo-Maafo, Former Minister of Finance and Economic Planning and Former Minister of Education, has expressed strong support for the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the Fanteakwa South Parliamentary Candidate, Hon. Duke Ofori-Atta. During his visit to Abompe and Samang in the Fanteakwa South Constituency, Hon. Osafo-Maafo emphasized the importance of voting for these two candidates in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at engagements with traditional leaders and party faithful, Hon. Osafo-Maafo stated, "I have come to Fanteakwa South because of two people—Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Hon. Duke Ofori-Atta. It is crucial for the people here to vote massively for them."
He stressed the significance of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, a flagship initiative of the NPP government, and warned against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) potentially reversing it. "If Ghanaians want the Free SHS policy to continue, they must vote for Dr. Bawumia. Voting for the NDC would jeopardize this transformative policy," he stated.
Hon. Osafo-Maafo recounted the efforts of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta in securing funding for the Free SHS program under the leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo. He urged the people of Abompe and Samang to ensure that the gains made in education are not reversed. "The Free SHS has transformed many lives, and its continuation depends on the election of Dr. Bawumia as the next president," he added.
Additionally, Hon. Osafo-Maafo commended Hon. Duke Ofori-Atta for his humility and hard work, noting, "I have worked with Hon. Duke Ofori-Atta, and I can attest to his dedication and competence. The people of Fanteakwa South should maintain him as their Member of Parliament by voting massively for him alongside Dr. Bawumia."
The engagements in Abompe and Samang were part of a broader effort to galvanize support for the NPP in the Fanteakwa South Constituency as the December elections approach.
