E/R:Fanteakwa South DCE Commissions Three-Unit Classroom Block to Boost Education in Hemang

 

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Fanteakwa South, Hon. Ernest Ofosu, has commissioned a newly constructed three-unit Junior High School (JHS) classroom block for the Hemang community. The project, designed to accommodate over 100 pupils, is part of the government's broader agenda to improve educational infrastructure and outcomes across the district.

In his keynote address, Hon. Ofosu highlighted the district assembly's numerous contributions to education, health, and community development. He emphasized that the newly commissioned classroom block is a testament to the government's commitment to enhancing access to quality education. He urged the Hemang community to leverage the facility to foster academic excellence and encouraged them to support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 7th elections.

Fanteakwa South District Education Director, Mr. Richard Akosah Addo, commended the DCE for his efforts in addressing the infrastructural challenges facing education in the district. While applauding the commissioning of the classroom block, he highlighted the need for additional resources, such as library facilities and reading books, to complement the newly introduced "Early Morning Reading" initiative. He called on the assembly to prioritize these needs to further enhance teaching and learning outcomes.

Representing Osabarima Mirrikkissi Okesu Appori Atta, Chief of Akyem Hemang, Nana Ntori Agyabeng, the Gyaasehene of Akyem Hemang, expressed gratitude to the DCE for the classroom block. He also appealed for the establishment of a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) school in the community to provide skills training for the youth. He assured the DCE that the community is ready to offer land and communal labor to support the project, emphasizing its potential to empower the local youth.

The commissioning event underscored the collaborative efforts of the government, local authorities, and community members in advancing education and development in the Fanteakwa South District.
