E/R:Ghana's 2026 National Budget Analysis Launched: Focusing on Big-Push and 24-Hour Economy

A civic organization, BudgIT Ghana, has launched the 2026 National Budget Analysis and Citizens’ Budget, aiming to promote fiscal transparency, inclusive governance, and citizen empowerment. The event, themed "From Policy to People: Understanding Ghana’s 2026 Budget" and "Empowering Citizens, Through Budget Transparency and Accountability," seeks to bridge the communication gap between the government and citizens.

Ms. Jennifer Moffatt, Country Director of BudgIT Ghana, stated that the event is part of their ongoing efforts to present budget information in a clear, accessible, and evidence-based format, strengthening stakeholders and making the budget work for the people. The launch featured panel discussions on the feasibility of the Big Push Agenda and 24-hour Economy Market Projects, exploring how the government can sustain economic gains and investor confidence.

The event also included an interactive session on tracking government spending using AI tools, promoting accessible, inclusive, and citizen-centered budget engagement. This initiative aims to empower citizens to hold the government accountable and ensure that the budget serves the needs of the people.

The Big Push Agenda and 24-hour Economy Market Projects are key components of Ghana's economic strategy, and the discussions at the launch aimed to shed light on their implementation and potential impact.
