E/R:Kyidomhene Supports BECE Candidates with Daily Meals and Transportation at Mamfe
In an effort to improve the welfare and concentration of candidates writing the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at the Mamfe Methodist Senior High School examination centre, the Akuapem Kyidomhene and Mamfehene, Nana Ansah Sasraku III, together with the traditional council, has provided one hot and nutritious meal daily to 196 candidates.
The initiative is aimed at reducing hunger among the students and ensuring they remain focused throughout the examination period. According to the traditional leaders, the provision of meals will prevent candidates from spending valuable time searching for food during examination hours, thereby allowing them to concentrate fully on their papers and revision.
The leaders believe that access to nutritious meals will enhance academic performance by preventing hunger-induced distractions, improving concentration, boosting cognitive function, and increasing students’ chances of better results.
Beyond the feeding initiative, Nana Ansah Sasraku III has also personally arranged transportation for candidates from Saforo and Kwamoso to the examination centre each day.
Speaking on the gesture, Anthony Koranteng Akwafo, Circuit Supervisor for the Larteh Circuit, expressed appreciation to Nana Ansah Sasraku III and the Mamfe Traditional Council for their timely support to candidates in the area.
He noted that beneficiaries of the initiative are drawn from several schools, including Mamfe Methodist JHS, Mamfe Presby JHS, Kwamoso Presby JHS, Amanokrom Presby JHS, Kwamoso Holy Hills, Saforo D/A JHS, Mamfe Apostolic Complex, Holy Trinity Academy JHS, and New Era Holy Academy.
“We are very grateful for this kind gesture,” Mr. Akwafo stated. “We are hopeful that this year’s examination results will be better than previous years.”
He further disclosed that the examination process has so far been smooth, with only one candidate absent due to pregnancy.
Mr. Akwafo extended gratitude on behalf of the Municipal Education Directorate, management, teachers, and students to the traditional leader and his elders for their support.
Some candidates, including Florence Addo of Mamfe Methodist JHS and Josephine of Mamfe Apostolic Complex, also expressed appreciation to the traditional council for the intervention.
According to them, the daily meals and transportation support have helped them remain calm, relaxed, and mentally prepared for their examinations.
“We promise to make good use of the meals provided for us throughout the examination week to nourish ourselves and stay focused. We will do our best to come out with flying colours,” the candidates said.
