E/R:Kingdom of Christ Chapel International Honours Gifty Twum-Ampofo on Mother’s Day

The Kukurantumi Branch of Kingdom of Christ Chapel International has honoured former Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency and former Deputy Minister of Education, Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo, popularly known as Hajia Kande, with a citation in recognition of her service and dedication to humanity.

The presentation was made on Sunday during a special Mother’s Day celebration led by the branch pastor, Rev. Isaac Offei Boadu. According to the church, the honour was in appreciation of Hon. Twum-Ampofo’s contributions toward community development, support for humanitarian causes, and commitment to advancing developmental projects across the Abuakwa North Constituency during her tenure as Member of Parliament.

Presenting the citation, Rev. Offei Boadu commended the former legislator for what he described as her unwavering compassion for the people and commitment to the work of God. He noted that her leadership and support positively impacted many lives within the constituency.

He explained that the church found it appropriate to celebrate her on Mother’s Day, describing her as a mother figure whose efforts and sacrifices had contributed immensely to the growth and welfare of the constituency.

“Today being Mother’s Day, we considered you worthy of celebration as a mother of the constituency,” Rev. Offei Boadu stated.

Receiving the honour, Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo appeared visibly surprised and emotional, expressing gratitude to the leadership and congregation of the church for the recognition.

She noted that she never anticipated that her service to the people of Abuakwa North had been closely observed and appreciated by the church and residents of the constituency.

Hon. Twum-Ampofo thanked God for the opportunity to serve, and also expressed appreciation to the people of Abuakwa North for their support throughout her political journey.

She further extended gratitude to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for entrusting her with leadership roles as Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister in two key ministries — the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, and the Ministry of Education.

The event formed part of activities marking Mother’s Day celebrations at the church, where mothers and women who have made significant contributions to society were acknowledged and celebrated.
