E/R: Unite to Accelerate Development Through Homecoming Initiatives — Traditional Leaders Urge Youth and Residents

Traditional leaders of the Tease community in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District of the Eastern Region have called on all natives of Tease, both at home and abroad, to unite and leverage homecoming activities to initiate and support development projects in the area.

The call was made during the climax of a week-long Tease Homecoming Festival in Support of Potable Water, organized by Nananom in collaboration with the Tease Royals under the theme: “Clean Water, Healthy Lives – Building a Better Tease Together.” The event attracted an array of politicians, dignitaries, religious leaders, traditional authorities, and heads of institutions, including Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Board Chairman of the Ghana Cocoa Board; Mr. Ofosu Bamfo of Sikkens Paint; and Hon. Moses Tangbeh, District Chief Executive for Kwahu Afram Plains South, among others.

The festival brought together natives from across the globe to socialize and deliberate on the development of the Tease community. Activities throughout the festive week included health screening, health walks, clean-up exercises, music festivals, and engagement with the aged, among others.

Addressing participants, Nana Akosua Yeboah, Queenmother of the Kwahu Tease community, emphasized the importance of active youth participation in homecoming initiatives, noting that such collective efforts are key to bringing sustainable development to the doorstep of residents.

On his part, Nana Kwakye Ansong Asomadu IV, Chief of the Tease community, commended residents for the prevailing peace and unity within the area. He urged them to continue living harmoniously with people of diverse religious, political, and ethnic backgrounds, while advising the youth—particularly young girls—to take their education seriously for a brighter future.

In a related development, Mr. Kwaku Amponsah, popularly known as Easy Way Production and Chairman of the Tease Royals, appealed to the government to expand water system infrastructure in the area to address the persistent challenge of access to potable water. He also praised residents for their active participation in the initiative, which aims to promote unity and development, and encouraged natives of other communities to return home and support local development efforts. He further appealed to philanthropists, institutions, and well-wishers to support the Tease community to improve the standard of living of its people.
