E/R: MUSEC Demolishes Unauthorized Structures Along Nkawkaw By-Pass Road

The Kwahu West Municipal Security Council, MUSEC, has commenced a demolition exercise to remove unauthorized structures along the Nkawkaw By-Pass Road as part of a broader campaign to sanitize the municipality and restore order.


The operation saw the team move in to pull down several illegal structures erected along the by-pass. According to MUSEC, the buildings were not only put up without approval but also posed a security threat, with the area increasingly being used as a hideout for criminal activities.


Speaking on the exercise, the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwahu West Municipality, _Hon. Tamimu Halidu_, said the intervention is part of a deliberate effort to protect public land and support the Forestry Commission’s greening agenda for the municipality. 


He explained that preserving the by-pass area will help improve the environment, check encroachment, and make the stretch safer for residents and commuters. 


_"The greater goal is to reclaim the land, promote greening, and reduce criminal activities that have been ongoing in the area,"_ Hon. Halidu noted.


The MCE further assured that MUSEC, in collaboration with relevant departments, will put strict measures in place to prevent future illegal developments along the by-pass and other public spaces within the municipality.


He urged residents and developers to seek the necessary permits before putting up any structure and to cooperate with the Assembly to maintain a clean, safe, and well-planned municipality.
