E/R: DCE Pays Courtesy Visit to Traditional Leaders in Fanteakwa South

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Fanteakwa South, Hon. Korang, has paid a courtesy visit to traditional leaders in the district to formally introduce herself and seek their blessings and support.

She was accompanied by officials from the District Assembly led by the Coordinating Director, some constituency executives led by the Constituency Chairman, Mr. Mark Okraku, as well as members of the media.

The DCE and her delegation were warmly welcomed by the chiefs, queen mothers, and elders of the various traditional councils.

In her address, Hon. Korang expressed deep appreciation for the warm reception and pledged to work closely with traditional authorities to promote development in the district. She assured the chiefs that, as the first female DCE for Fanteakwa South, she would give her utmost effort, remain open to collaboration, and strive not to let them down.

She also expressed gratitude to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for the opportunity to serve the people of Fanteakwa South.

Acknowledging the crucial role of traditional leaders in national development, she promised to continue the projects initiated by the previous administration and called for unity in tackling the district’s challenges. She emphasized that with the support of the chiefs, they can collectively achieve great developmental outcomes.

In response, the chiefs advised the DCE to work diligently and keep her doors open to all stakeholders, as she represents the President and the government in the district. They also raised key concerns affecting their communities, including rising teenage pregnancy, illegal mining (galamsey), lack of social amenities, inadequate school infrastructure, and poor road conditions. They appealed to the DCE to address these pressing issues as a matter of urgency.

Some of the traditional areas visited included Osino, Nsuapemso, Nsutam, Abompe, and Dwenase.

In their closing remarks, the chiefs pledged their full support for Hon. Korang, expressing confidence in her ability to collaborate with traditional leadership to bring meaningful development to the people of Fanteakwa South.

  1. Nana Kwabena Addo, well done for a nicely written news on the visit of the Hon. DCE to some traditional leaders in FS. I am happy the Hon. DCE has taken that initiative. It is our prayer that with the cooperation of the traditional leaders she will develop FS, especially the Bomdwen school between Dwenase and Abompe and other schools in the district. Thank you. SA GYAMERAH
