E/R:Hon. Dr. Gifty Twum-Ampofo’s Lobbying Brings Contractor Back to Complete Kukurantumi-Tafo Road

Hon. Dr. Gifty Twum-Ampofo, the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Co-Chairman of the NPP Manifesto Committee on Education, and former Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), has assured her constituents that the much-anticipated tarring of the Old Tafo Akyem Engen Junction through New Tafo to Kukurantumi OPASS Junction road will be completed before the December 7 general elections.

During an inspection of ongoing works on the road, Hon. Dr. Gifty Twum-Ampofo emphasized that the rehabilitation of the stretch has been her topmost priority. She disclosed in an interview with Nana Kwasi Asare that she had employed relentless lobbying efforts, including engaging stakeholders and the contractor, to ensure the completion of the project.

“Lobbying for this road has been my utmost priority. I have consistently engaged all stakeholders, including the contractor, to ensure this vital road is completed for the benefit of residents,” she stated.

Dr. Twum-Ampofo expressed gratitude to the residents of Abuakwa North for their patience during the prolonged construction period, which left them grappling with dust and its associated health and business challenges. She assured them that their suffering would soon end as the contractor, General Constructions, has resumed work and is committed to completing the tarring of the road by the election date.

The MP further urged her constituents to vote massively for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, and Nana Kwame Ampaw Addo Frempong, popularly known as Chief Buffalo, to ensure continuity of the NPP’s development agenda. She reiterated her belief that their leadership would sustain the progress being made and bring more development to the constituency.

“This road has been one of the major concerns of this constituency, and due to my lobbying efforts, we now have General Constructions back on site, with assurances that the road will be completed in time. Let us support Dr. Bawumia and Chief Buffalo to continue delivering good governance,” she added.

The Kukurantumi-Tafo road has long been a pressing issue for the residents of Abuakwa North, affecting both mobility and economic activities. With construction now back on track, residents and commuters who were interviewed thanked Hon. Dr. Twum-Ampofo for her intervention and added that, the road is set to significantly enhance transportation and improve their lives.
