E/R:Kwahu West MCE Urges Residents to Prioritize Cleanliness, Calls for Consistent Sanitation Efforts
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwahu West, Hon. Tamimu Halidu, has urged residents of Nkawkaw to adopt environmentally conscious practices and actively participate in monthly sanitation exercises to promote a cleaner and healthier community.
He made the call during the observation of the National Sanitation Day in Nkawkaw, where the exercise brought together personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Assembly staff, sanitation officers, and community volunteers. The cleanup exercise aimed at reinforcing the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining environmental hygiene across the municipality.
Speaking after the exercise, Hon. Halidu emphasized that a clean environment not only enhances public health but also improves the municipality’s attractiveness and economic potential. He encouraged residents to help keep their surroundings tidy to instill a culture of cleanliness and civic pride.
On her part, Chief Superintendent Sofia Eva Anim, the Nkawkaw Divisional Police Commander, commended the government’s sanitation initiative, describing it as a step in the right direction. Leading her team in the cleanup, she called on all stakeholders to unite in sustaining the exercise and reaffirmed the Police Service’s commitment to supporting sanitation campaigns.
Adding his voice, Mr. Klenam Eric, Director of Nkawkaw Klemav Sanitation Company Limited, acknowledged the residents’ active participation and compliance, describing it as commendable. He assured that his company remains committed to ensuring a cleaner Kwahu West Municipality and encouraged residents to continue participating in future sanitation activities with a spirit of unity and dedication.
