E/R:MP Urges Students to Shun Indiscipline and Focus on Their Future

The Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa South District, Hon. Duke Ofori Atta, has advised students to avoid indiscipline, violence, and quarrels that could jeopardize their future. He urged them to remain focused on their studies and work hard to complete their education, emphasizing their role as future leaders.

Speaking at the 68th Independence Day Anniversary celebration at Osino SHS (Asec) Park, Hon. Ofori Atta also reminded parents of their responsibility in raising disciplined children. He stressed the need for parents to safeguard their children from negative societal influences and social vices, ensuring they grow into responsible and patriotic citizens who contribute to peace and development in the district.

The MP further advocated for the integration of historical and cultural education into the school curriculum, particularly in social studies. He believes this would help students better understand their heritage and improve social interventions.

On his part, the Fanteakwa South District Education Director, Richard Akosah Addo, commended the 20,650 students and 1,017 teachers from various schools who participated in the Independence Day parade at Osino SHS. He reaffirmed the Education Directorate’s commitment to improving education standards and encouraged parents to actively guide their children in their academic pursuits.

Richard Akosah Addo also called on traditional leaders (Nananom) in the Osino Traditional Area to introduce laws that would prevent students from staying out late at night, helping curb indiscipline in the district.

The colorful celebration was attended by dignitaries, heads of departments, and community members, culminating in a march-past by students. Outstanding schools received awards for their excellence in various categories at both the primary and senior high school levels.
