W/R:Amenfi Central MP Invests Over GH₵2.7 Million in Teacher Support Initiative

The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has reaffirmed her commitment to improving education in the constituency through her Teacher Initiative, which has invested more than GH₵2.7 million in supporting teachers and schools over the past three years.

According to the MP, the initiative, which began before she was elected to Parliament, provides a monthly educational support package of GH₵76,200 to teachers across the constituency. She explained that the programme was established out of her conviction that education remains the foundation of community development and that teachers play a vital role in shaping the future of the nation's children.

She disclosed that the initiative has so far invested over GH₵2,743,200 in education, benefiting 138 teachers, supporting 8,829 students, and reaching 39 schools across more than 35 communities in Amenfi Central.

Some of the beneficiaries include teachers such as Vida Kyei, Francis Baah, Elijah Quayson, Badu Monica, Patience Ayeh, Obeng Richard, Lydia Sonful and Ameyaw Joseph, among many others. Schools benefiting from the initiative include Chichiso, Akunkwanta, Amuni, Agona Camp, Anyinabrem, Bantoma, Akyemkrom and Nyamebekyere, together with more than 31 other schools within the constituency.

Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe stressed that education should not be viewed through a political lens but rather as a long-term investment in the country's future.

> "Education is not about politics; education is about the future. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and become a leader tomorrow," she stated.

She described the programme as more than a social intervention, saying it represents a lasting commitment to teachers, an investment in children, and a promise to secure a brighter future for the people of Amenfi Central.

The initiative continues to receive recognition as one of the constituency's flagship education support programmes, reflecting the MP's sustained efforts to improve teaching and learning outcomes across the area.
