"NDC Pledges Comprehensive Development for Central Region"-Ahmed Anas

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to spearheading transformative development in the Central Region, with a detailed agenda aimed at revitalizing key sectors of the region's economy and improving the livelihoods of its residents.

In a statement authored by Ahmed Anas, the NDC outlined a seven-point plan that emphasizes job creation, sustainable development, and economic growth. Central to their agenda is the protection of water bodies in the region, ensuring environmental sustainability and safeguarding livelihoods dependent on these natural resources.

The party also pledged to review Ghana's lithium agreement to ensure that both the nation and surrounding communities benefit significantly, with a special focus on creating jobs for the youth. Tourism, which is a major economic driver in the region, will be given "massive attention" to maximize its potential in generating employment and boosting local economies.

Agriculture and agribusiness will be elevated to new levels with innovative approaches to enhance productivity and value addition. The NDC also underscored its focus on education and entrepreneurship, vowing to prioritize these areas across all communities, constituencies, and districts in the region to empower residents with the skills and opportunities needed to thrive.

In addition, the party vowed to expose and address what it described as "reckless national policies," aiming to ensure accountability and responsible governance. A deliberate policy effort will be made to position the Central Region as Ghana's next economic hub, with Kotokuraba, Mankessim, and Upper and Lower Denkyira targeted for development into market centers driven by tourism and industrialization.

The NDC's vision for the Central Region reflects a comprehensive and strategic approach to development, with a strong focus on addressing local needs while driving national progress. "Watch out, the NDC means business," the statement concluded, signaling the party's determination to deliver on its promises.
