NDC Committee Member Ahmed Anas Criticizes Prof. Stephen Adei and CJ Madam Gertrude

In a recent statement, Ahmed Anas, a member of the Employment and Job Creation Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), voiced strong criticisms aimed at Prof. Stephen Adei and Chief Justice Madam Gertrude, CJ.

Anas began by addressing both Prof. Adei and Madam Gertrude, expressing his dissatisfaction with their actions and decisions. He emphasized the importance of integrity and accountability, stating, "He who calls for equity must come with clean hands." Anas questioned the motives behind Prof. Adei's advice to President-elect John Dramani Mahama regarding the E-Levy, suggesting a lack of reliable alternatives for revenue generation.

Regarding Prof. Adei, Anas criticized his absence during significant economic challenges faced by the previous administration, highlighting issues such as substantial borrowing, rising inflation, currency devaluation, increased unemployment rates, and a struggling education sector. He accused Prof. Adei of hypocrisy and undermining Ghana's development, stating that individuals like him do not deserve respect or honor.

Turning his attention to Chief Justice Madam Gertrude, Anas raised concerns about recent directives issued to the courts, including extended operating hours. He criticized the perceived delays and inefficiencies within the judicial system, attributing them to Madam Gertrude's administration. Anas highlighted issues such as prolonged case resolutions and alleged manipulation within the judiciary, accusing Madam Gertrude of prioritizing political gains over judicial integrity.

Anas concluded his statement by urging both Prof. Adei and Madam Gertrude to refrain from public commentary on national issues, warning of potential repercussions if their criticisms continue. He called for unity within the NDC and emphasized the party's commitment to Ghana's growth and development.

The statement reflects ongoing tensions within Ghana's political and judicial landscape, with key figures expressing divergent views on governance and accountability. As the political climate intensifies ahead of upcoming elections, such exchanges underscore the challenges facing the nation's leadership and institutions.
