E/R:Kwahu South Education Director Calls for Nurses' Bungalow at Mpraeso SHS
The Municipal Education Director for Kwahu South, William Nyarko Frimpong, has made a passionate appeal for support to construct a nurses' bungalow at Mpraeso Senior High School. He emphasized that this initiative is critical to ensuring quality healthcare for the school’s large student population and enhancing their well-being.
Mpraeso SHS serves not only as an educational institution but also as an examination center for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The director highlighted the challenges posed by the lack of on-site accommodation for nurses, stressing the need for them to be readily available to address medical emergencies.
Speaking during a ceremony where Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) renovated and furnished the school’s sick bay, Mr. Frimpong expressed gratitude for the support but reiterated that more is needed to enhance healthcare services in the school.
"The population of Mpraeso Senior High School is significant, and the presence of nurses within the school premises is vital. A dedicated nurses' bungalow will ensure timely medical care for students when they fall ill," Mr. Frimpong stated.
Meanwhile, Joseph Opoku, General Manager for Consumer Banking at CBG, underscored the bank’s commitment to corporate social responsibility during the event. He urged the school authorities to maintain the renovated facility to ensure its longevity.
"As part of our responsibility as a bank, we are proud to contribute to the health and well-being of the students at Mpraeso SHS. We appeal to the Headmaster and staff to take good care of this facility," Mr. Opoku remarked.
The call for a nurses' bungalow has sparked a broader conversation about improving infrastructure in educational institutions to support students’ academic and health needs. Stakeholders in education and healthcare are encouraged to collaborate to make this vision a reality for Mpraeso SHS.
