E/R:Fanteakwa South MP Rewards Top 2024 BECE Students with Laptops and Cash

The Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa South in the Eastern Region, Hon. Duke Ofori Atta, has honored three top-performing students from the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) with brand new laptops and undisclosed cash prizes in recognition of their academic excellence.

At a special ceremony held in the constituency, Hon. Ofori Atta reiterated his earlier pledge to motivate students who attain single-digit scores in the BECE. He emphasized that the award scheme was established not only to recognize outstanding academic performance but also to appreciate the efforts of dedicated teachers and supportive parents whose contributions have positively impacted students' education.

"This initiative is part of my vision to improve BECE results across the constituency," he said. "It is meant to encourage excellence and reward hard work among students."

He added that the awarded students have already gained admission to various senior high schools, and urged candidates preparing for the upcoming BECE to aim high and perform with excellence.

Hon. Mercy Korang, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Fanteakwa South, praised the MP’s initiative and pledged to complement the effort by introducing scholarships for future BECE high achievers, particularly those with single-digit aggregates who gain university admission. She encouraged the award recipients to use the laptops and cash prizes wisely to further their education and improve their academic performance.

Mr. Richard Akosah Addo, the Fanteakwa South District Education Director, expressed his gratitude to Hon. Duke Ofori Atta for his consistent commitment to improving education in the district. He highlighted the initiative as a powerful motivation tool that recognizes excellence and inspires students to take their studies seriously.

"Education is the best legacy we can leave our children," Mr. Addo remarked, calling on parents to play their role in guiding their children towards academic success.

He also acknowledged the hard work of teachers in the district and appealed for logistical support, including office furniture and desktop computers, to enhance teaching and administration.
