W/R: Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe Supports Amenfi Central Education with Four-Month Salary Advance for Community Teachers

 


Amenfi Central, Ghana—In a remarkable show of commitment to education, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Amenfi Central, has paid a four-month salary advance for 20 community teachers across five communities in the Amenfi Central Constituency. The initiative, covering the period from October 2024 to January 2025, is part of her vision to enhance teaching and learning in rural areas where there is a shortage of educators.


The schools and communities benefiting from this initiative include:


1. **Bredi D/A Basic School** in the Agona Camp electoral area, which serves 206 pupils, received a monthly allocation of GHC 2,700.

   

2. **Dwete D/A Basic School** in the Sumpre electoral area, serving 146 pupils, received GHC 2,400 per month to support three community teachers.


3. **Anomatewa D/A Primary School** in the Kyeikrom electoral area, with 107 pupils, received a monthly amount of GHC 2,140.


4. **Atonsu Community School** in the Manso Amenfi electoral area, catering to 157 pupils, received GHC 5,000 per month for five community teachers.

5. **House of Joy Preparatory School (Manukrom)** in the Kwamang electoral area, serving 147 students, received a monthly sum of GHC 3,000 for six community teachers.


The total monthly cost of this initiative amounts to **GHC 15,240**, with the four-month advance payment totaling **GHC 60,960**. Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe's generosity doesn't stop there; she has pledged to continue paying the salaries of these 20 community teachers annually, which will cost her **GHC 182,880** each year.


She has already disbursed the four-month salaries in advance, with payments scheduled to resume quarterly from February 2025 onward.


Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe's initiative aims to address the shortage of teachers in rural communities and to alleviate the financial burden on parents in Amenfi Central. By investing in education, she hopes to create a supportive learning environment that enables students to thrive, regardless of their location.

This significant contribution reflects her dedication to improving the quality of education and ensuring that every child in Amenfi Central has access to qualified teachers, fostering a brighter future for the next generation.
