E/R:Kwahu East DCE Urges Assembly Members to Champion Unity, Commitment, and Inclusive Governance

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwahu East, Hon. Samuel Asamoah, has called on Assembly Members to prioritize unity, commitment, and inclusiveness in their approach to local governance, with a strong focus on implementing developmental projects.

He made the appeal during the First Ordinary Meeting of the First Session of the Fifth Assembly held at the Assembly Hall in Kwahu Abetifi.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Asamoah emphasized the critical role local governance plays in community development. He reiterated his dedication to improving the living standards of residents and encouraged teamwork among Assembly Members. He also acknowledged pressing challenges facing the district, such as Fulani herdsmen-related issues, chieftaincy disputes, and illegal mining (galamsey).

Speaking on the menace of illegal mining, Hon. Asamoah described it as a serious security threat to Kwahu East. He urged Assembly Members to address the issue constructively without resorting to unlawful actions, stressing that violence could endanger lives.

The DCE further encouraged support for government flagship initiatives, including the proposed “24-Hour Economy”, to promote inclusive, accountable, and effective governance. He also outlined ongoing and upcoming developmental projects in the district, covering education, healthcare, sanitation, potable water provision, security, and agricultural improvements—such as the distribution of cocoa seedlings to boost farming.
