  Tension gripped Asiakwa, a community in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region, after angry residents apprehended a young man alleged to be behind a wave of thefts that had plagued the town for months. The suspect, described by locals as a “notorious robber,” was reportedly caught with several stolen items in his possession. He was subjected to severe mob assault and narrowly escaped being lynched before community leaders intervened. According to residents, the suspect had for months terrorized the town, moving from compound to compound and stealing items such as clothes, mobile phones, and chargers. Almost every household in Asiakwa was said to have fallen victim, with some families suffering repeated losses. “He steals anything he can lay his hands on, especially clothes. E/R – Kyebi: Parents Urged to Encourage Wards to Pursue TVET Education

The Head of Training, Assessment, and Quality Assurance at the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service, Mr. Samuel Debrah, has appealed to parents to encourage their children to choose TVET institutions as viable educational pathways. According to him, the TVET sector is a critical pillar in driving Ghana’s economic transformation, equipping students with practical skills that prepare them for both employment and entrepreneurship. Mr. Debrah made the call at Kyebi in the Abuakwa South Municipality, during the maiden graduation ceremony of the Kibi Technical Institute, where more than 200 students successfully graduated.
