E/R: Kwahu West Municipal Assembly Cuts Sod for 13 Development Projects Across Five Communities
The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly has officially cut sod for the commencement of 13 major development projects across five communities within the municipality. The projects include educational facilities, boreholes, zonal council offices, and health centres, all aimed at improving access to essential social amenities.
Speaking at a brief ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Tamimu Halidu, said the initiative forms part of government’s broader agenda to promote equitable development and enhance the living standards of residents in the municipality.
According to him, one of the flagship projects — the new classroom block at Krakoo Community — will include a Kindergarten block, Basic School block, Junior High School block, staff common room, teachers’ quarters, washrooms, and other ancillary facilities. He emphasized that the project will provide a conducive environment for teaching and learning and ease educational challenges faced by pupils and teachers in the area.
Hon. Halidu further urged contractors to execute the projects diligently and on schedule to ensure timely completion for the benefit of the communities. He stressed that the Assembly’s Common Fund is being utilized to meet the developmental needs of the people and reaffirmed government’s commitment to improving education, health, and social infrastructure at the grassroots level.
He added that the completion of these projects will create an enabling environment for sustainable development and bring relief to residents across the beneficiary communities.
Traditional leaders, residents, and officials from the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly who attended the sod-cutting ceremony expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the MCE and the government for the projects, describing them as a timely intervention to accelerate local development.
