Kabaka Foundation Cuts Sod for Adolescent Corner and Antenatal Unit at Ga East Municipal Hospital
The Kabaka Foundation, in collaboration with the Ga East Municipal Hospital (GEMH), has cut sod for the construction of a modern Adolescent Corner and Antenatal Care Unit to improve access to adolescent and maternal healthcare in the municipality.
The ceremony was led by Nana Owiredu Wadie, Kwahu Nkwatia Nkosouhene and Chairman of the Kabaka Foundation, as part of activities marking his birthday month. The initiative reflects the Foundation’s mission to advance healthcare for vulnerable populations in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Speaking at the event, Superintendent Dr. Ayuba Seidu Abdulai, Medical Director of GEMH, expressed gratitude for the partnership and highlighted the project’s importance. Representatives from the Greater Accra Regional Health Directorate and the Municipal Health Directorate described the initiative as timely and impactful. They noted that the Adolescent Corner will provide counseling, reproductive health education, and psychosocial support, while the Antenatal Unit will strengthen safe, patient-centered care for expectant mothers
On his part, Mr. Henry Larbi, Executive Director of the Kabaka Foundation, reiterated the organization’s commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable populations through healthcare, education, and social welfare interventions. He further announced that the Foundation donated funds to support patients unable to pay their bills, as well as Kabaka-branded medical items, including lab coats and scrubs, for future use at the facility.
Mr. Larbi assured stakeholders of the Foundation’s full support to ensure the project’s completion by September 2026, underscoring a collective commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in the Ga East Municipality.
