W/R:Hon. Joana Gyan-Cudjoe Recognised for Exceptional Support to Persons with Disabilities
Accra, Friday, August 22, 2025 — The National Disability Desk of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has honoured Hon. Joana Gyan-Cudjoe, Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, with a citation in recognition of her remarkable commitment and generosity towards persons with disabilities (PWDs) and the party.
The brief but symbolic ceremony, held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at her residence in Accra, was led by Comrade Joyce Gyamfi, the NDC National Campaign Coordinator for Women with Disabilities during the 2024 elections and Deputy National Coordinator in charge of Operations.
As Patron and Financier of the NDC Disability Desk, Hon. Gyan-Cudjoe has consistently demonstrated unwavering support, described by party members as “magnificent.” She is celebrated for never turning down requests and always providing financial, logistical, and emotional assistance—particularly in critical moments before and after the 2024 elections.
The citation highlighted three key objectives:
1. Celebrating her victory in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
2. Appreciating her consistent support, which significantly contributed to mobilising votes from PWDs.
3. Discussing future strategies to advance inclusive and sustainable policies for disability empowerment.
In her remarks, Hon. Gyan-Cudjoe expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting persons with disabilities nationwide. She emphasized that disability advocacy is not merely an act of kindness but a “sacred responsibility” she wholeheartedly embraces.
Her dedication, which transcends her constituency to impact the national level, has earned her widespread admiration as a true advocate and dependable ally of PWDs within the NDC and across Ghana.
The NDC Disability Desk praised Hon. Gyan-Cudjoe for her compassion, leadership, and enduring generosity.
